BGL training programme is conducted for a period of one year with 9 – 10 sessions. Each session is held once in 5 weeks with training on the end to end procedure of growing pepper from Nursery to Harvest including Best Agricultural Practices (BAP) of the world with classroom training and field demonstrations.
Each batch comprises of a cross-section of students like young planters, women planters, senior citizens, professionals, representatives of various pepper related departments, scientists and progressive growers from Karnataka and other Southern states of India. Each of the students contributes in terms of their knowledge and opinion on best practices. The training programmes are held in different areas with diverse climatic conditions and agricultural practices.
Continued post training assistance on technical and scientific aspects of growing pepper is provided by the dedicated Executive Team of BGL to the members of BGL community of over 280 growers by sharing information, photos and videos through whatsapp and other media.
